Mrs Parker

Hello and welcome to Year 4's class page.
Mrs Parker is the class teacher and we have Mrs Darbyshire, Miss Lowe and Mrs Mansfield supporting us this year.
Year 4 Class Prayer
Now the day is over,
We lift our hands and say
Thank you Heavenly Father for today.
We're sorry for the wrong things,
but glad about the right,.
Keep us Heavenly Father
In your love tonight
Amen
Homework in Year 4
Homework is sent home on a Friday and is to be completed and handed in the following Thursday.
Homework consists of spellings, reading, times tables and either a Maths/English or other topic activity.
An overview of the spellings will be sent home at the beginning of each half term and will be stuck into the children's homework books. Spelling test will be carried out on a Friday morning.
Reading in Year 4
There is an expectation that every child reads every evening for at least 15 minutes. When reading with your child, please ask them questions about what they have read. This helps them with their understanding and comprehension skills.
Children are reminded to hand books in each morning and should be writing reviews in their reading records, once they have completed a book. We encourage you to record any reading your child has done in the reading record, whether that be books from home, football programmes, magazines etc
PE in Year 4
This half term, Year 4 have PE on a Wednesday and a Friday. Please make sure your child is sent to school in their correct PE kits on this day. PE kit consists of:
-Blue school hoodie with logo
-White round neck T-shirt with logo
- Royal blue shorts
- Black plimsolls
- Black jogging bottoms or leggings and trainers for outdoor PE
Year 4 Multiplication Check
This year, the multiplication check will take place in June. The check consists of 25 questions, which range from 0 x 0, up to 12 x 12. Children are given 6 seconds to answer the questions. We are working hard in class to practise our times tables, but children do also need to be practising regularly at home. Please have a look at the information leaflet, attached as a file and there are some links below, to some games that will help the children to practise at home:
