Y5 Trip to Harry Potter Studios Friday 15th February 2019
Start: 15th Feb 2019 7:00am
Duration: 1 day
Year 5 School Trip: Friday 15th February 2019
As part of our creative curriculum topic ‘Harry Potter’ we have arranged for the children to spend the day at
Harry Potter Studios in Watford
This will be an exciting experience where the children will get to explore the tour and sets of the Harry Potter films, discover how the special effects were created, learn how the magical animals came to life as well as taking part in a script writing experience.
We are kindly asking parents for a voluntary contribution of £58.00 per child. This includes exclusive entry into the studios and the coach journey. We appreciate that this seems expensive however the normal entrance cost is greatly reduced for schools. This will be the only trip that Year 5 will be attending this year other than the optional trip to Waddecar in the summer.
A deposit of £10 should be paid by Monday 19th November 2018. Further payments can be made in instalments with the full amount paid by 31st January 2019. Payments can be made via scopay or in cash at the school office. Should you wish to send money in with your child, please ensure this is in a clearly marked envelope and placed in the post box in the school entrance foyer.
The trip can only go ahead if we receive enough voluntary contributions to ensure the cost of the trip is met. A confidential questionnaire / survey is available to all parents asking for your consent and asking whether you will be prepared to pay the voluntary contribution. We will announce the decision as soon as we have received a reply from all parents and by Tuesday 20th November at the latest. The questionnaire / survey can be accessed via the website by clicking on the parent log in (this will not work on a mobile phone or tablet) or by downloading the school spider app on your mobile or tablet. You will need to click on the settings symbol (cog wheel) at the top of the page to log in. The survey is very simple and you just need to click on a radio button ʘ answering yes or no for each question.
Further details regarding leaving and return times will be given nearer the time as this may change depending on roadworks etc however it will probably be from 7am until 8pm.
The children will be required to wear their school uniform as normal. Please provide your child with a packed lunch clearly labelled in a disposable bag. Due to the early start, school will not be able to provide packed lunches for this trip. It is advisable that children have additional bottles of water which are clearly labelled and snacks for mid-morning and on the journey home.
As with all school trips the use of mobile phones and cameras will not be permitted; school will be taking photos which will be shared with parents.
It is essential that any children with asthma bring a labelled inhaler with them.
If you have any queries regarding the visit please feel free to contact me.
